Frequently Asked Questions:
- My fluids still look clean. Do I still need
to flush them?
Yes. The goal is to keep them from burning or breaking down. When
fluids start this process they leave behind harmful deposits which
can result in a wide range of problems.
- My check engine light/service engine soon
light is on but my car runs fine. Should I be concerned?
Yes. The check engine/service engine soon light is the only
way the computer has to communicate to you that a problem has been
detected. This problem may be minor and not affecting any
other systems, or it could be major and if caught soon enough could
prevent expensive repairs and possible breakdown.
- There are many additives on the market that claim to help my
car, should I be using them?
No. Your car is designed to operate free of costly additives. Most
of what an additive claims to do can be accomplished by manufacturer
suggested service intervals. These costly additives seldom
produce the results you are looking for and can possibly do more
damage to your car or void your warranty.
- There are many quick oil change places, should I be concerned
using them?
Yes. These days people have very busy lifestyles and while
it is better to change your oil than not, I have to say when it
comes to your car, it is time to slow down. You depend more
than you know on your car. It will pay off in the long run
to have your car checked over routinely by a trained auto technician. One
that will spend the necessary time to look at all problem areas
and give you educated suggestions to catch potential failures before
they become a problem.
- My hoses all look good. Should I change them
anyway?
Yes. Most hoses will look fine right up until they fail. Hoses
should be changed every 50,000 miles or 60 months. |
